Our 'good news' stories
An ex-Royal Naval officer with a young family had found himself out of work and in dire financial straits.  He has been given a full annual grant to ease his weekly cash-flow problem while also being provided with extensive advice and guidance to help with his job search.

The manual wheelchair of a Black Watch officer’s widow living in a Care Home in the north of Scotland was no longer suitable for the local terrain and the lady was becoming house-bound.  She was awarded a one-off grant to pay a substantial part of the cost of a specialised electric wheelchair.

A widower and war-time Coastal Command pilot was living alone on a very meagre pension.  He was awarded a full annual grant to enable him to maintain a car without which he could not continue living in his home

We can provide a personal visit to any area in Scotland from one of the team, a benevolence volunteer or one of the SSAFA Field Workers who are crucial in helping us to help you.
