The manual wheelchair of a Black Watch officer’s widow living in a Care Home in the north
of Scotland was no longer suitable for the local terrain and the lady was becoming house-bound. She was awarded a one-off grant to pay a substantial part of the cost of a specialised electric wheelchair.
