To celebrate Armed Forces Day on June 24th, Round Table, a not-for-profit organisation, and signatories to the Armed Forces Covenant, are offering all current and ex-serving Armed Forces men the chance to receive the gift of a Gourmet Society card, worth £69.99, for free!
Round Table is a worldwide association that gives 18-45-year-old men the chance to make amazing new friendships, try something new and make a difference in their local community. As part of Round Table’s dedication to the Armed Forces Covenant, current and ex-serving members of the Armed Forces receive 6 months free membership. This Armed Forces Day, Round Table will be adding Gourmet Society card to the offer for those who join the voluntary Association in the next two months.
Chris, a SSgt who has served in the Army since 2003, explains why he has been a Table member for 10 years.
“Having been in the Army since I was 16, I didn’t have a lot of connection to the civilians in my local area. For soldiers who don’t change post often, it is so important to try to set down roots. My wife’s boss explained to me all the great benefits of Round Table – the local connections and an instant social group, a sense of belonging to something more and a commitment to something bigger. It sounded great.”
Like the Armed Forces, Round Table is dedicated to helping people, helping members to gain new connections, and improving your skills, from public speaking to interpersonal skills.
Chris said: “For me, so many aspects of Table are exactly what I was looking for. It’s the friendship outside of the military and growing your social network and potential future work contacts if you wanted to. I have always included my Round Table activities in my work appraisals, as it separates me from my peers as a man who goes the extra mile and who has gained plenty of soft skills through my volunteering. On top of that, Round Table is great fun, with so many varied activities on a regular basis.”
