Public Appointments & Charity Trustee Seminar
Places Still Available! - Monday, 8th May 2017

Print Friendly
OA Scotland are hosting an information evening for ex-military personnel who are interested in either Public Appointments or Charity Trusteeships.

Charity Trusteeships can be a great way of widening your experience and your network the commitment can vary from one meeting each month to just two or three meetings each year. Public appointments, some of which attract payment, vary widely with a commitment of a few days each year to a few days each month.

With such a wide range, applicants do not need to be retired or semi-retired to hold either a public appointment or a Charity Trusteeship.   Many appointments with lower time commitments are particularly suitable for applicants who are working full time or who have domestic commitments.

This seminar is designed to give you more information about Charity Trusteeships and Public Appointments; how they might fit with your employment plans and help you develop new skills and perspectives and widen your network.

The speakers at the event will be:

  • Gavin Davey, Director, Bruce Tait Associates, Charity Consultants
  • Ian Bruce, Public Appointments Manager, Office of the Commissioner for Ethical Standards in Public Life in Scotland
  • Kirsty Walker, Public Appointments Development Manager, Scottish Government
  • Phil Cox, (ex-RAF), CEO of Scottish Veterans Residences and Member of the NHS Waiting Times Board

Following the presentations, there will be a Q&A session.

Date:  This event will be held on Monday 8 May 2017 from 1600 – 1800

Location:  The Douglas Room, The Royal Scots Club,  30 Abercromby Place, Edinburgh, EH3 8QE
