Work Placement Description
This is a unique opportunity created through the Barclays AFTER (Armed Forces Transition Employment Resettlement) programme. The two week placement will offer individuals currently serving in the military valuable experience that will assist with their transition into civilian employment within the Financial Services sector. Successful candidates will:
 Gain a unique insight into how a financial institution operates
 Have the opportunity to network with individuals across the businesses and functional areas
 Develop tangible career skills including CV enhancement and interview techniques

The rotation will be split between key business and functional areas and will aim to cover the following:
 Introduction to Barclays
 Interview and CV Skills
 Human Resources / Learning & Development
 Change & Lean
 Technology
 Compliance and Risk
 Operations
 Customer Interface (how we interact)
 Products (what solutions we offer)

This might involve an overview of retail banking services, credit & mortgages, investments etc followed by visits to the sales force who market and support those solutions- PB, Premier, Corporate etc.

** Final rotation will be confirmed closer to the placement date
** Additional 1 day available for a deep dive into a department of your choice

Criteria for successful candidates:
 Applicants must still be serving whilst undertaking the placement
 Placement would suit entry level to middle management i.e. up to and including Lieutenant (Navy), Flight Lieutenant (Air Force) and Captain (Army & Marines), but all ranks will be considered
 Candidates must be available for the duration of the placement i.e. 20th – 31st August 2018
 Planning to resettle in Scotland
